Vyom |
‘Vyom’ denotes ‘sky’- the space without boundaries. The Vyom Art Centre is conceptualized
from the essence of vyom – A place where an artist can be free from any boundaries,
think beyond the space and create his or her masterpiece.
The Vyom Art Centre is established by Dr. Vimal Kumar Sharma, a renowned Non Resident
Indian(NRI) from Jaipur now residing in the UK, supported by his wife Dr Prema Sharma,
who for long had an ambition to create a unique art centre in Jaipur, the pink city
of India- a city full of culture, tradition and colours. The centre aims to benefit
national and overseas artists, both established as well as emerging, giving them
an opportunity to work together, build up a strong network and benefit from the
rich heritage of Rajasthan.
It provides the unique facilities of a studio, an exhibition centre, and well equipped
residential facilities; a one-stop shop for artists. Though very close to the city
and all amenities, the centre nests in the serene beauty of the Aravali hills.
The architect behind this project is Mr Vinay Sharma, an eminent Indian artist supported
by Dr Vinod Shastri a renowned Indian scholar.
The Vyom Art Centre opened its newly constructed exhibition centre on 12th June,
2008.
